How To Surround Sound Is Easy

Everybody likes television and everybody likes movies, but if you set your surround sound system up the right way, with a good television, you will enjoy them even more. The centerpiece of any great entertainment system will start with a good high definition television. But once the television is picked out, and we will assume that you are already that far at least, then the surround sound and the way you watch the movies needs to be picked out.

This can mean that you choose either DVD or Blu-ray to watch your movies on. Assuming that you have made the jump to the high definition television, then you may want to make the jump up to Blu-ray. Blu-ray is the absolute best way to watch movies at home, giving the viewer perfect sound and perfect picture. There is no way to get higher definition at home than with a Blu-ray player and if you like to hear and see all of the details and sounds of the movie, you can't get better than Blu-ray.

But if you aren't ready or prepared to upgrade to the higher tech, you can still use an up converting DVD player that gets you near perfect sound and picture. But beyond just what you are going to play the movies and television on, you have to consider what you are going to listen to the movies and television on. Sound is a very important component to watching and thoroughly enjoying a movie or show.

Have you ever tried to watch a football game without the sound on, in a restaurant or at home? It just doesn't feel right, the experience is diminished and there is something lost in the translation. So when you are putting together your home theater system, one of the most important components is going to be the surround sound.

You know what's weird (maybe)?

What I find most offensive about these shots is not the obvious "woman as a piece of meat/there to serve" vibe that they're going for.

I mean that just seems so obvious that to react to it would make me feel like a jerk, in the knee variety.

No, what bothers me about these is...that's got to be the most fake-looking body I've ever seen in my life.

It belongs to a woman named Elizabeth Loaiza, BTW, and obviously I have no way of knowing how much of it is or is not the body that god gave her. But...

You tell 'em, Garcelle...whoever you are...

How To Preventing Mold In the Basement

The basement is one of the areas in the house where molds usually grow. Aside from the fact that is usually dark in the basement, households seldom find time to actually clean the basement. Most water leaks also go directly to the basement which can primarily cause molds in the said area.

Preventing molds in the basement can be done by eliminating water sources in the said area of the house. Below are some instructions on how to avoid and eliminate molds in the basement:

Monitor the level of humidity in your basement. You can use humidity meter to do this or install dehumidifier. The level should be lower than 45 to avoid molds in the basement. It will help to still use dehumidifier to maintain the humidity level and to lessen the air moisture.

Inspect your basement if there is water leakage. Check the faucets (if any) and sink holes and other water sources. If there is a water leak problem, have it repair immediately. And make sure to keep your basement always dry and clean after repairing the damages.

Seal or cover the cracks and holes with cement to avoid water spillage. Make sure that the cement has water proof element to prevent water from absorbing in and prevent cement to have moist.

Clean your basement and organize the clutters. This will help for proper air circulation in your basement. If this happens, moisture can be prevented as well as molds. Make sure that your basement has enough ventilation and install fans when needed.

As much as possible, do not store newspapers, old furniture, clothes and appliances in your basement. Molds may grow in these materials as well as pests. If you really need to store them in the basement, cover them and place them away from the walls. Place them on top of tables or chairs or shelves and avoid putting them on the ground.

Check the surrounding outside of your basement. Inspect the gutters, soil or ground, trees, and many others. Make sure that the surrounding is clean and the soil is healthy. Make sure also that the spouts do not go directly to your basement or home.

Install exhaust fans especially if there is bathroom in your basement. This will avoid moisture inside and molds too. Wipe the floor and clean the bathroom even if you are using it or not.

If your outside slope is directing to your basement, repair it right away and make sure that it goes away from your home to avoid water from going to your basement.

Do not use carpet in your basement or do not store one in the basement.

Make use of metal or plastic cabinets in your basement for storage purposes. Since molds grow on woods, you may want to avoid them to avoid molds too.

Allow air access to items in your basement. This will prevent moisture to your items and to your basement. Check your items in the basement once in a while to make sure that they are still free from molds.

I run a lot of nude photos of women on this blog (oh, you noticed)...

I don't do paparazzi or "up skirts," however, I run pictures of women who have chosen to present themselves to a camera in the nude whether as models, actresses, or both (like here's Kate Winslet doing both). I imagine at least some of them are considered sometimes "brave" for doing so.

One can certainly argue about whether they should have chosen to, or what the effect(s) will be of their choosing to. But brave? I dunno. Certainly they are free to make the choice, for better and/or for worse without putting themselves in danger; possibly physical danger.

Such cannot be said of a young Egyptian woman who, in an attempt to protest the strong conservative influence in that country, chose to post a nude photograph of herself to her blog.

Aliaa Magda Elmahdy, a 20-year old university student from Cairo, has sparked outrage in the Middle East with the controversial full-length image, posted on her blog last week.

It has since received 1.5 million hits and thousands flooded the site with insults.

You know what I like about that? It means that thousands of people went to see a pretty naked woman, but felt bad about it...so they blamed it on the woman.

It's just such a perfect model of the hard right-wing conservative mindset, and of course I'm not just talking about in Egypt.

But anyway, so, I wanted to say a couple things. The first is that, here is a woman who is truly brave for allowing herself to be exposed, naked, before a camera.

Brave in a way that I suspect most Playboy models wouldn't understand (please note my use of the word "most" there, as I'm sure there are many who would).

The second is that I generally like naked, pretty women.

Naked women aren't the only sorts of women that I like, nor is "prettiness" the only part of a woman I admire.

As I'd hope looking at any few days of this blog (or one of my others) would show.

But I do like them, naked, pretty women. And I won't feel bad about it. I mean for one thing, it's a genetic imperative, innit?

Tips To Installing a Gas Water Heater in a Mobile Home

So you wake up one morning and find your flooring soaked around where the water heater is. You open the closet or compartment door and find a huge mess. You look around and see that you have neglected the fact that your water heater looks 30 years old and you possibly didn't even know where it was in your home. Out of sight, out of mind. It is time to replace the unit.

First things first is you need to find the correct unit for a mobile home. You are going to have to call around and ask for a "mobile home approved, sealed combustion" water heater. Do not rely on the stock hand at your local Big Box Store who makes $10 per hour to tell you what you need or don't need for an appliance in your home. Do your own research and make sure it is the correct one. If you decide to go cheap and buy any ordinary gas unit, it will be considered illegal and you will be putting yourself and family at risk for fire and carbon monoxide.

Now that you have found the correct water heater, let's begin. Locate the main water supply shut off valve and turn it off. It most likely will be under your home, a real bear. Turn the gas supply off at the water heater. There will be a valve nearby the heater. Hook up a garden hose to the drain located at the bottom of the water heater. Open the drain all the way. You will then notice that no water is coming out of the hose. You have to break the vacuum in your plumbing system by introducing air behind the water. You can do this by opening the hot and cold faucet handles through out the house. Once water starts flowing you can disconnect the hot connection located at the top of the heater. This will speed up the draining process by letting a lot of air behind the water in the tank. Wait until you think the unit is empty. Turn the drain into the closed position. Disconnect the pressure relief line and pull out from the floor. Disconnect the cold water connection located on the side of the heater 2/3 the way down. Disconnect the gas supply line. Remove any shipping straps that might be holding the heater in place and remove any screws going into the floor. Remove the unit from the compartment.
